Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
What does this mean for you?
If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.
Is this service right for you?
Yes, if you have a stable condition and you:
- don’t want to go to your GP practice every time to collect your repeat prescription.
- collect your medicines from the same place most of the time or use a prescription collection service now.
It may not be if you:
- don’t get prescriptions very often.
- pick up your medicines from different places.
What do you need to do?
If you would like to take advantage of this new service, all you have to do is “nominate” the pharmacy of your choice. You do not necessarily need to select a pharmacy from the list below; it has been provided for you to make an informed decision.
You can choose any pharmacy near to your house, work or even where you shop.
You will need to fill in a quick form at the pharmacy of your choice.
In addition to nominating a pharmacy, you are able to nominate a Dispensing Appliance Contractor (DAC), if you use one. This can be a separate option to your pharmacy; you will need to contact your chosen DAC and inform them.
